Favre tips nothing on Leno

Vikings QB Brett Favre did not tip his hand on his intentions for playing or retiring next season on Thursday’s Tonight Show appearance with Jay Leno. Even though he’ll soon be eligible for senior life insurance, there’s still a strong possibility Favre will decide to play.
Yet his aversion to training camp or letting teams know [...]

Favre or no, Vikes should pursue McNabb

Whether Brett Favre retires or not, the Minnesota Vikings should pursue a trade for Eagles restricted free agent QB Donovan McNabb. Why? Well, because you can never have too much talent at the position when your top guy is 40 and could either retire or lose it at any given moment.
McNabb may not be Favre [...]

Leno lands Favre

Let’s just hope it’s not another retirement announcement.
Word is that Jay Leno, back in control of the Tonight Show thanks to incompetent NBC dimwits, has landed Vikings QB Brett Favre as his guest for a March 4 show, the first week of Leno’s second reign. Odds are, Favre won’t be there to promote www.successfulhomebusiness.org.
Instead, he’s [...]

New Orleans, get ready for a Purple invasion!

While it would have been nice to face the Saints at Metrodome, the Vikings could hardly ask for a better playoff road game location that the New Orleans Superdome. Since the Vikings are built to be a Dome team, this is an ideal matchup for the NFC Championship Game, for the right to go to [...]

Vikes-Cowboys: Early in the fourth quarter

We’re leading 20-3. That’s better news than discovering weight loss pills that don’t raise your blood pressure!
With a 17-point lead and about 12 minutes left, Minnesota’s in a good position to win. And this is a Dallas offense that put up a load of points against Philly last week. Talk about defense!
Adrian takes it. Second [...]

Vikings near midfield

The Vikings are near midfield on what looks to be a promising drive. Makes me glad I’m slimmer now, though I didn’t need a fat loss supplement to get here. I can enjoy the game a lot more with 20 pounds less of me to move around.
Taylor gains five. Second and five.
Farve to Rice. TOUCHDOWN! [...]

Bears crumble in Dome, Vikes now 10-1!

The stars on offense were all over the place in the Metrodome Sunday as Farve completed 32 of 48 passes for just under 400 yards (I guess Brett’s not quite ready for Medicare supplement insurance just yet, eh, Cheeseheads?), Percy Harvin had a career game for a rookie, gaining 101 yards receiving and 45 yards [...]

Vikings sweep Packers, solidify first place

With a mostly-dominant 38-26 performance on the road at Lambeau Field, the Minnesota Vikings completed a regular-season sweep of the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, winning the second of two match-ups. Bouncing back after a disappointing loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers, the Vikings dominated the first half, 17-3, and scored quickly [...]

Favre in 2010, too?

After leading the Vikings to a 3-0 start, many around the Twin Cities are hoping Brett Favre decides to return next season for a second campaign in purple before hanging up his cleats for good. A lot will depend on how the rest of this season, and next, play out.
With a 40-year-old QB, the Vikings [...]

Silver Fox in classic form

The Silver Fox was in classic form Sunday as Brett Farve completed a touchdown pass to Greg Lewis in the back of the end zone with two seconds left on the clock to lift the Vikings to a 27-24 victory over the resurgent San Francisco 49ers.
The win moves the Vikings to 3-0 on the season, [...]

Booty gets the boot

While most observers figured the underachieving, high-cost QB Tavaris Jackson would be the odd man out when Brett Farve became a Viking, it was actually affordable and promising backup J.D. Booty who got the boot on final cut day.
If no other team claims him, Booty will probably be welcomed back to the Vikings’ practice squad, [...]

Tired of the Favre Saga

This whole episode with Brett Favre, who any self-respecting Vikings fan should hate, is really becoming a pain in the rump. It’s about as welcome as Jar-Jar Binks at a Star Wars convention. It’s nowhere near as fun as a quinny buzz. Get the idea?
To me, Favre is and always will be a Packer. That [...]
