Wolves lose two they should have won
After winning two out of three games as of March 2, the Minnesota Timberwolves appeared to be headed in the right direction; they’d finally achieved fifteen wins, matching last year’s total, early enough to give fans hope that 20 wins might not be out of the question, especially with two weak Eastern Conference teams on their schedule.
But despite that bit of momentum, Minnesota lacked the consistency to nail down wins against Philadelphia and Washington and now sits with a tougher schedule ahead of them the rest of the way. Kevin Love’s streak of double-doubles remains intact, but if that had been paired with a four-out-of-five winning streak, it would have felt a lot better.
As it stands, the Timberwolves Performance Team might need to switch to nurses uniforms to help the ailing franchise recover from another season that looks to be disappointing at best. As of Saturday’s results, the Timberwolves now stand tied with Sacramento for the second-worst record in the NBA, as Washington added a sixteenth win at the Wolves’ expense.
The Wolves remain three games ahead of the last-place Cleveland Cavaliers, who have only 12 wins this season without one-time franchise cornerstone, Lebron James, now with Miami.
