Seeing the Wolves, in person
On Wednesday, I had a chance to see the Wolves play in person rather than on TV, and from the comfort of a corporate suite at Target Center, no less. It was a wonderful time with thoroughly gracious hosts. Although the game was another disappointing loss … (some folks nearby found a conversation about oxyelite pro side effects more engaging, strangely), it was a chance to see Kevin Love earn his 44th double-double in a row.
Rambis seemed reluctant to let it happen, though; the team never really played with motivation and the offense seemed haphazard at best. Beasley had a very off night, and even Love’s numbers were down. He left the game mid-way through the third period and didn’t re-enter the game until late in the fourth.
Rambis made comments following the game about not caring about streaks and stats when the team is losing, but really, let’s be honest. In a season when the Wolves have won only 13 games so far, about the only thing keeping fans in the arena was the chance to see Love extend his double-double streak.
It was selfish of Rambis to nearly deny fans the one truly entertaining aspect of last Wednesday’s game. In a team with few signs of an impending turnaround, Love’s streak shows that the team has at least one player who hasn’t given up. Why deny that
