Love’s an All-Star thanks to Stern
Kevin Love has been named as an injury replacement to Yao Ming by NBA commissioner David Stern; Love will be a reserve. Love responded to making the All-Star game with a 19-board, 18-point effort against Denver Saturday night, but the Wolves still lost at home, 113-110.
That kind of result is becoming as familiar as a memory foam mattress sale, though far less comforting for the Wolves, who feature the best forward duo in the NBA but have assembled the NBA’s second-worst record so far this season. While they’re on pace to surpass last year’s victory totals, it’s less progress than most folks were hoping for.
Next season, Ricky Rubio will hopefully join the Wolves. With plenty of cap room, the Wolves could use some impact players at shooting guard and center to surround Love and Beasley with a proper supporting cast to improve the team’s on-court results. Otherwise, it could be Bye-Bye Love… sooner than later.
