Wolves get win number four!
Beasley scores 33 points, including sinking the game-winner, to beat the Los Angeles Clippers in a game the Wolves needed to win to show they’re no longer last year’s doormats. The fourth victory comes as part of a 3-2 five-game stretch by Minnesota, who on Friday play host to the LA Lakers at Target Center.
Beasley is slowly emerging as one of the top two stars for the Wolves this season; the other is the master of the rebound, Kevin Love, who had 24 points and 14 boards on the night. Love recently had a 30/30 night, meaning he scored at least 30 points and grabbed at least 30 rebounds in a single game. Love is averaging 18.5 points and 14.3 boards per game. Beasley’s leading the team in scoring with 21.2 points per game.
Surprisingly, rookie Wesley Johnson is also averaging over 10 points a game, even though he’s new to the squad and the league.
The team finally seems to be taking shape, and as for GM Kahn’s interest in acquiring that “one more superstar player” to complete his rebuilding of the franchise, between Love and Beasley, they Wolves may already have two in the making. That’s harder to pull off for this franchise than selling garage door openers to the first 5,000 fans in Target Center!
