After Purdue loss, Brewster’s fate is sealed
The Minnesota Golden Gophers have five games left in their season, but after today’s 28-17 loss to Purdue, arguably the most winnable game left on Minnesota’s schedule, coach Tim Brewster’s fate ought to be sealed. Maybe he should even look into a medical job going forward, because Big 10 football simply isn’t his forte.
Now, I won’t throw in with those who say Brewster ought to be fired and replaced immediately; but he should abandon any illusions of saving his job going forward. In the tradition of some football coaching situations in the college game, Minnesota should announce that Brewster won’t be brought back and begin the search for his replacement. Let Brewster finish out the year…why inflict anyone else with the mess he’s made this year? But make it clear his fate is sealed.
