Lakers move Wolves streak to 12 losses in a row
Maybe Kobe Bryant had an itchy trigger finger, or maybe it was just eczema. Either way, he had a very nice night against the Timberwolves as coach Kurt Rambis was schooled by his former team by a distance of eight points; it was a dismal first period that left the Wolves too buried for the youngsters to dig themselves out.
The loss brings Minnesota’s latest futility streak to 12 games in a row. Perhaps Rambis is afraid a couple more wins would endanger the team’s second-worst in the NBA status, hurting their chances to prove the lottery is futile once again in helping the team improve.
They ought not worry; Golden State has 19 wins that they can’t un-win and the Wolves have been stuck at 14 for almost a month. New Jersey’s not going to go on a hot streak to end the season, so why not go on a three-game win streak? At least it would help morale in the final 12 games.
