Timberwolves finally get second win!
Maybe Denver felt sorry for us. Maybe they saw how young and in need of acne treatment our players were and threw us a pity bone.
Whatever the case, the Minnesota Timberwolves finally got their second win of the season, and only after racking up a 15-game losing streak, setting a new franchise record for worst start in team history at 1-15. So, the Wolves are now 2-15 after defeating Denver 106-100.
Whoppie.
While this team has a lot of young talent, a great coaching staff and a solid GM, it also has a lot to prove. More than ending a fifteen game losing streak can erase.
Like maybe the next win coming before January? How about that?
While it might seem like asking too much, I have to believe that with this coaching staff, the building blocks are there to not continue the kind of futility that 15-game losing streak symbolized. I have to believe that the Wolves will find a way to get a winning streak going before too long, even if it will not last anywhere nearly as long as the recently-ended losing streak.
Can this team win more than six games this year? Sure. Can it win more than that? Like, twenty or so? I hope so. Can it win 30? Probably not. But if the coaching staff can stay sane and keep teaching these guys, as well as acquiring more talent along the way, I would hope that next season, we’ll be close to being out of the lottery.
After all, hope springs eternal, right?
