Favre in 2010, too?

After leading the Vikings to a 3-0 start, many around the Twin Cities are hoping Brett Favre decides to return next season for a second campaign in purple before hanging up his cleats for good. A lot will depend on how the rest of this season, and next, play out.

With a 40-year-old QB, the Vikings enjoy the most experience in the North Divison of the NFC at that position, but eventually they’ll need someone to step up and take over. It’s clear T-Jack isn’t the long-tern answer anymore, and Sage Rosenfels is more of a stop-gap solution in case Favre retires – at least from Minnesota – after this season.

While the QB position isn’t exactly battling court cases over weight loss supplements, it’s clear the Vikings need to acquire a younger solution at QB as soon as next season, or names like Matthew Stafford, Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler could be haunting them for several years to come.
