Tubby staying put
Gophers men’s basketball coach Tubby Smith put to rest a lot of rumors this week when he said, contrary to speculation elsewhere, that he has no intention of leaving the Gophers any time soon. The latest high-profile school with a coaching vacancy to openly wish for Smith to leave Minnesota for their alma mater is Virginia.
“I plan on being here for a long time,” Coach Smith said on WCCO Radio this past Sunday.
So forget about it, all you schools from Virginia to Kettlebell, The Tubster’s staying right here in maroon and gold. Get used to it!
