Wolves return to losing
After surging through a weak January schedule to become the NBA Coach of the Month, Kevin McHale as the Minnesota Timberwolves back to their losing ways; they’ve dropped six of the last seven games and seen both Craig Smith and Al Jefferson go down to injuries that will hold them out for indeterminate amounts of time.
It’s an inglorious way to follow up an encouraging January that saw the Wolves catch on to McHale’s system and style enough to pile up some wins and salvage the season from the bottom of the scrap heap. But questions still linger over the long-term viability of McHale as coach, given the “wild mood swings” his team still seems capable of.
It’s frustrating enough to make even your tv stand up and shout at the images going across the HDTV screen.
