Gophers land Carpenter, 19 others
WR Hayo Carpenter, the sole five-star prospect among the Gophers’ recruiting pool this season, turned down offers from better programs, including intense late recruiting from the Florida Gators, who just happen to be defending national champs.
Yet Carpenter was more interested in loyalty and the Gophers were there, recruiting him, early and often. What does Carpenter bring to the table? Great junior college receiving stats, 4.37 speed on the 40, and a five-star recruit rating. Yeah, Eric Decker might have someone to draw the double-teams away from him from now on.
Carpenter is joined by four-star RB Hasan Lipscomb and cornerback Michael Carter, the cousin of former Gopher Tyrone Carter, now a Super Bowl champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as three other four-star prospects. While the 2009 class isn’t as large as last year’s, the quality of the class is solid and should help coach Brewster next time around, when he’ll have a ton of great in-state prospects to pursue, headlined by Cretin-Durham Hall OL Seantrell Henderson, whose number-one-in-the-nation ranking makes his star as bright as a table lamp.

Hey thanks for the brilliant post! The resource will help me that for sure.
